Our Owner: Max Rose
With a deep-rooted passion for pets nurtured since childhood, Max's journey in the pet care industry began when he relocated to Seattle from the U.K. in 2001. Growing up with a diverse range of non-Human friends (including dogs, cats, rabbits, donkeys, and gerbils) Max's formative years instilled in him a compassion for companion animals that continues to guide his work today.
Having cared for over 300 dogs of all breeds, shapes, and sizes, Max's unwavering commitment to raising the standard of pet care is evident in every aspect of Mr Pups Pet Care. He firmly believes that pet care is not a luxury but a vital necessity, providing dogs with the enrichment they need to lead happy and healthy lives.
Max's expertise extends beyond his years of hands-on experience. As a certified dog behavior specialist, he possesses a deep understanding of canine behavior, ensuring that each pup receives individualized attention and guidance. In 2019, Max graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Creative Writing, and a BA in philosophy with a focus on animal ethics and welfare. Since then, he has honed his knowledge by earning a certificate in Applied Animal Behavior, UW-AAB
Outside of the dog park, Max spends his free time warding off existential dread through music, video games, and quality time with his partner Emelia and best friend, Lewis — both Mr Pups team members.
Max is living the dream!

"I stumbled upon this amazing career accidentally when looking for something to bide my time after leaving a long term job in retail due to store closure. I thought it was going to be a short gig until I found a “real” job. HA! Little did I know. 5 years later and I can definitively say I’ve realized there is nothing better than working outdoors with four legged fluffy balls who are beyond excited to see me. The pet care, dog walker, and park community has become family.
And I love every second of it!"

"I have been pet owner since childhood. My first dog was a Golden Retriever named Golden (lol) and a cat named Clementine who had kittens in my pajama drawer. I thought I would be a veterinarian, and while my official career lead me away from animals. I always sought actives to include them. I volunteered with animal shelters in every state I lived in, fostered puppies and kittens, worked for an animal magazine, worked in a pet store and took care of all my friends and neighbors animals whenever needed. This last hobby, turned into a job in Texas when I started my own pet sitting & boarding company. I had to give up this endeavor when I moved to Seattle, but as soon as I signed up my 3 year old dachshund Dougy with Mr. Max's Pets, I knew I wanted to work with dogs again and I knew Max was the right person to work with. I am so glad I joined the team!"
